Mental ill health can range from mild bouts of depression to severe conditions such as schizophrenia.
Every year one in four people will experience a mental health issue and the most common conditions are anxiety and depression.
On average one or two people in every 100 will experience a severe mental illness.

People with good emotional and mental health are generally able to:
- be confident in themselves

- manage stress and change
- express their emotions
- play a positive role in their home and work life.
The Five Ways to Wellbeing
Evidence suggests that there are five simple steps you can take to improve your emotional wellbeing. The good news is that they’re easy to fit into everyday life.
The five ways are; connect, keep learning, take notice, give and be active.
