We need your help to get the communities of Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire and Bolsover talking about the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are simple things that we can do every day to help boost our mood and improve our day to day wellbeing.

They are Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.

To help spread the word about wellbeing, the council’s public health team have developed an information pack full of resources including posters, leaflets, a short video and the loan of pull up banners.

They’re offering the resource kits to local community and voluntary groups to help spread the word about wellbeing.

Our Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing Councillor Carol Hart said: “Emotional health and wellbeing is really important and we want to help local communities to spread the word.

“The Five Ways to Wellbeing are easy to carry out and don’t have to cost a penny.

“If you’re a community or voluntary group in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire or Bolsover then we’d encourage you to apply for one of our resource packs.”

Groups might want to use the resource kits to hold an event in a local venue or join in with an existing event, club or group to promote the importance of the Five Ways to Wellbeing and mental wellbeing.

In addition successful groups will receive a one off grant of £100 that can be used, in conjunction with the resource packs, to develop, or support, community events to promote the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

This funding can be used to pay for things such as volunteer travel and time, venue hire, advertising, refreshments, printing, prize draw items and more.

The closing date for applications for a resource kit is 9 July 2018. Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.
