Annie Deakin, aged 61 from Dronfield recently took part in one of our free blood pressure check-ups at a Derbyshire County Council library.

She said:

“I was feeling a bit unwell, and I came into the library for a blood pressure check-up.

“It showed that I had high blood pressure and that I should visit my doctor straight away.”

High blood pressure often has no symptoms so the only way to diagnose it is with a blood pressure check-up.

Annie is now on blood pressure medication meaning that she is less likely to develop serious health conditions such as a heart attack or stroke.

She added:

“I assumed I was fit – but don’t take any chances!

“Don’t think twice about getting a check-up – what have you got to lose?”
