One of our Chesterfield based clients has discovered a newfound appreciation for vegetables along with improving his health and wellbeing!
Philip Hodgson started with our Live Life Better Derbyshire weight management programme in May 2021.
Since then he’s made changes to the way he eats, started exercising more and has seen an improvement in his health and wellbeing.
Philip was referred to us by his GP as, in his own words, he was ‘overweight and grossly unfit’.
The 66 year old operations manager joined us weighing 16 stone and has since lost over two and a half stone.
“I feel much fitter and feel generally much better.
“It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be - but I think a lot of that was due to the support I had from my advisor.”
Philip has made a few adjustments to the way he plans his meals and has added more exercise into his routine. He said:
“I plan my shopping to buy the correct thing excluding junk items and fast food. I walk a lot more than I ever did, 15 miles being by best walk to date.
“I now eat very little meat and have discovered a whole taste in vegetables.
“I also now eat sensible sized portions. Initially I had cravings for certain items which I now control by using these items as special treats.”
He says the support he received has been second to none.
“I honestly think that I could not have done as much if I didn’t get the superb support that Kate my advisor has given me all the way through the programme, from advice on portion control to the gymnasium programme she recommended me for.”

“A little effort gives you a lot of benefit in both physical and mental health.”
